Greeting Post Envelope by India Post (1)

First greeting card issued under the series with HAPPY DIWALI

In the year 2000 India post started an innovative greeting post which comprises of a card with envelope with preprinted postage stamp upon the envelope having same design as of greetings card. It was so attractive because had simulated perforations as well. These envelopes were machine made and synthetic gum on flaps means ready to use. On back side the flap of envelope it bears a circular design with a logo of India Post with with GREETINGS in English as well as शुभकामनाए in Hindi looks like hologram.

These cards were in two sizes smaller one 105×165 MM and the imprinted stamp 40×30 MM, where as the medium sized cards are 120x 185 MM and stamp on it is 50×40 MM.

They were printed by Calcutta security printers and Madras security Printers. The first series of ‘GREETING POST’ was launched on 6 th sept 2000. Last set of greetings were issued in dec 2003. These were ranging in denominations of 300 to 500 P as rates were applicable.

A sum total of 256 cards were issued on different topics like Diwali, Christmas cards,Pongal,general greetings,Deshera and New year.

So here are the display of those artwork by different artists.On the back of all these cards the artists name was also printed.
