Bicentenary of Singapore Police Force
Singapore launched a set of stamps to commemorate 200 years of policing by Singapore Police Force (SPF) in Singapore. The set of six stamps was unveiled by President Halimah Yacob at the SPF200 event today to commemorate SPF’s bicentennial year.Designed by established stamp designer Mr Wong Wui Kong, the six stamps feature various police vocations and the strong police-community partnership that keeps Singapore safe and secure every day, as well as pay tribute to SPF pioneering officers, who laid a strong foundation for future generations of officers to build on.
Year of Rat
The collection marks a new cycle of SingPost’s Zodiac stamp series, featuring two graphical illustrations of the rat, the first sign in the Chinese Zodiac cycle. The Zodiac Rat stamps are the first in a series that will span the next 12 years, all of which are designed in a similar artistic style. The rest of the Chinese Zodiac stamps will be released in the next subsequent years until the 12-year cycle completes in 2031. The artist behind the illustrations for the entire series is Ms Lim An-Ling.
