Keren Hayesod – United Israel Appeal was founded in London in 1920 and is celebrating its centennial in 2020. Keren Hayesod is and shall continue to be the leading organization in the world raising funds for the Jewish people and the citizens of Israel. It allows anyone who is interested in supporting Israel as the Jewish homeland, in improving the lives of Israel’s citizens and strengthening the bond with the Jews in the Diaspora – to realize this commitment by donating money for activities, projects and initiatives that Keren Hayesod sees as valuable to the promotion of those causes. Keren Hayesod shall continue to serve as a means to express that connection which allows the Jewish people and friends of Israel around the world to cooperate and work together for the sake of a strong Israel that lies at the heart of the Jewish people, a safe Israel that can serve as a home and a protector for all Jews no matter where they are, and a prosperous Israel of which all can be proud. Keren Hayesod operates based on the lessons of the history of the Jewish people, including the basic value of mutual guarantee – all Israel are responsible for one another. We are all one people and together we shall realize that mutual guarantee.Keren Hayesod is an international organization that works for the State of Israel, operating through envoys and volunteers in more than 60 countries around the world, except for the United States.
The main headquarters are located in Jerusalem, one of four entities that represent the national institutions, all in collaboration with the jewish Agency for Israel.
