Kite-flying, one of Filipinos’ favorite hobbies, is celebrated in the second quarter topical stamps issued by the Philippine Postal Corp. PHLPost said the stamps feature the “Saranggola,” which are usually made of bamboo sticks and plastic bags. According to PHLPost, this series of stamps will have 10 designs, with the kites “in upward position flying across white clouds and blue skies with the word ‘Pilipinas’ in the background.” The special stamps cost P10 each, with only 120,000 copies printed.
