25 Years of The Constitution

estonia constitution stampAfter the restoration of the independence of the state the Supreme Council of the Republic of Estonia formed a 60-member Constitutional Assembly that included an equal number of members of the Supreme Council and of the Congress of Estonia. The text of the Constitutional Assembly was passed in a plebiscite on 28 June 1992. During 25 years the constitution has proved its vitality; it has been changed on four occasions, including in the 2003 plebiscite when this way the permission was granted to join Estonia into the European Union. According to the Constitution Estonia is a state established on 24 February 1918 where the highest state power is carried by the people.

The World Orienteering Championships 2017

estonia sports stampEstonia will host the World Orienteering Championships that will take place in the beginning of July (30 June to 7 July) in Tartu and South Estonia. It is a peak event that will bring to Estonia fifty countries teams and sympathisers as well as couple of thousand domestic and foreign fans. The title contender’s host will be the City of Tartu where in addition to sprint competitions there will be prize giving events and concerts. In addition to the university city there will be competition sites also in Viljandi, Rõuge and Vitipalu. The races will be in Sprint Qualification, Sprint Final, Sprint Relay, Long Distance, Middle Distance and Relay.
