Cookies can trace their history from Medieval Europe, when many ingredients such as cinnamon, ginger and almonds, were introduced. The tradition of leaving out cookies and milk for Santa took off in the 1930’s, during the Great Depression, with this still a part of modern Christmas celebrations.
