Les Ballets De Monte-Carlo
In 1985, the current Compagnie des Ballets de Monte-Carlo was born. In 1993, the company took off on the international stage as a result of the choreographic works created by Jean-Christophe Maillot, which are renowned throughout the world. In 2000, he established the Monaco Dance Forum, an international dance festival in which the company regularly participates. In 2011, under the chairmanship of H.R.H. the Princess of Hanover, the Ballets de Monte-Carlo united three institutions: the Compagnie des Ballets de Monte-Carlo, Monaco Dance Forum and the Princess Grace Academy of Dance. Creation, outreach and training have now been brought together within a single structure in an unprecedented way, in the service of the art of choreography.

Birth Centenary: Léo Ferré
Author, composer, performer, pianist and poet: Léo Ferré is a prominent figure in French chanson. Born on 24 August 1916 in Monaco, he took an interest in music at a very early age and joined the Monaco Cathedral choir as a soprano.
Too often remembered purely as a singer, Ferré was first and foremost a composer who was happiest leading an orchestra.
But he was also a first-class poet, a performer whose voice penetrated deep into the soul of all who heard it, with a resonance full of love and rebellion.
