Mozart in The Netherlands 1765-1766  Stamp Issue

netherlands mozart stampsIn 1765 and 1766 the child prodigy Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart visited the Dutch Republic. During his stay, he performed among others at the inauguration of Governor William V in The Hague. Before that the young composer wrote a special song. PostNL commemorates the visit of Mozart to our country 250 years ago with a stamp sheetlet with ten stamps with the denomination 1 for destinations in the Netherlands. The stamps are portraits of the young Mozart, the score of the music he composed for the governor and the Müller organ in the Grote Kerk in Haarlem, where he played. The stamp Mozart in Netherlands is designed by graphic designer and typographer Robbert Zweegman from Malden.
