150th Anniversary of Norwegian Meteorological Institute

After the end of the Crimean War in 1856, demand grew for a weather forecasting service. The Norwegian Meteorological Institute was founded on 1 December 1866.Since the start of weather forecasting in the 1860s, Norwegian researchers and meteorologists have developed their knowledge about weather and weather prediction into a very precise service. Regular weather reports on the radio increased the attention we paid to the weather and the weather conditions in our long country.
