USPS will Issue Stamps on 100 Years of National Park Service

usps national parks stampsThe U.S. Postal Service will issue a pane of National Park Service Forever Stamps celebrating the 100th Anniversary of NPS on August 25, 2016.The National Park Service (NPS) is an agency of the United States federal government that manages all U.S. national parks, many American national monuments, and other conservation and historical properties with various title designations.

It was created on August 25, 1916, by Congress through the National Park Service Organic Act and is an agency of the United States Department of the Interior.Since 1916, the National Park Service has been entrusted with the care of US national parks. With the help of volunteers and partners, they safeguard these special places and share their stories with more than 275 million visitors every year.The National Park Service preserves unimpaired the natural and cultural resources and values of the National Park System for the enjoyment, education, and inspiration of this and future generations.
