Jersey Issued Stamps and MS on Battle of Britain  and  Sir Winston Churchill

jersey battle of britain stampsThe six stamps in this issue commemorate 75 years since the Battle of Britain and depict some of the key factors that enabled Britain to survive. Together these factors helped to form a springboard for allied victory in World War Two.Hat-Trick Design, London, has designed the 40’s styled stamps in keeping with the stamps they created for part one of the series: ‘Victory and Liberation- Sir Winston Churchill’.

jersey churchil stampThe special intaglio Miniature Sheet has been created from an engraved portrait of Sir Winston Churchill, produced by acclaimed engraver, Martin Mörck exclusively for Jersey Post. The engraving is based upon a photograph by famous portrait photographer, Yousef Karsh, taken on 30 December 1941.
