Kazakhastan Issued Stamps to Honour WWII Heroes

KAZAKHASTAN STAMPSKazakhastan has issued a souvenir sheet of three new stamps dedicated to the 70th anniversary of victory in WWII on 6th May 2015.

The figures represented on the stamps include Rakhymzhan Koshkarbaev, who hoisted the Soviet flag over the Reichstag; Manshuk Mametova, the first Kazakh woman awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union and Major General Ivan Panfilov, Hero of the Soviet Union.

The stamps are printed offset in four colours; the size of each sheet is 78x108mm. The stamps themselves are 26x36mm. Circulation will be 15,000. They were designed by artist Kuat Ibraishin. The value of each stamp of the series is 200 tenge (US$1.07).
