Aland will Issue Stamp on Meadow Flower
Aland Post will issue a stamp on Peach-leaved bellflower on 10th April 2015. Wild life photographer Andy Horner shot the photo of this adorable meadow flower .
Peach-leaved bellflower (Campanula persicifolia) is the most common species of the eight different species of bellflower growing in Åland. It appears on road shoulders and meadows and in gardens in the beginning of July.
It usually becomes approx. 50 cm tall, and its bell-shaped, mostly blue flowers of five fused petals become 3.5 cm long and sit in clusters on the erect, unbranched stems.
