New Stamps from Austria

Delta Gnom

austria delta gnom stampAustria has issued a stamp on historical manufacturer – Delta Gnom on 7th March 2015. It depicts the bike produced by this manufacturer. Made in Vienna from the nineteen-twenties by the Engler, Wolmersdorfer Company, the Delta Gnom was one of a number of smaller machines competing for the market, ceasing production in the ‘thirties.

Post-war, the firm resumed two-wheeler manufacturing, in competition with Puch and others, for the Austrian market. Well-built, reliable but always-sold in small numbers, the Delta Gnom survived until 1955, making survivors rather rare.
