Austria has issued a stamp on historical manufacturer – Delta Gnom on 7th March 2015. It depicts the bike produced by this manufacturer. Made in Vienna from the nineteen-twenties by the Engler, Wolmersdorfer Company, the Delta Gnom was one of a number of smaller machines competing for the market, ceasing production in the ‘thirties.
Post-war, the firm resumed two-wheeler manufacturing, in competition with Puch and others, for the Austrian market. Well-built, reliable but always-sold in small numbers, the Delta Gnom survived until 1955, making survivors rather rare.
The stamp depicts Easter Bunny released on 7th of March 2015.The Easter Bunny is a folkloric figure and symbol of Easter, depicted as a rabbit bringing Easter eggs. Originating among German Lutherans, the “Easter Hare” originally played the role of a judge, evaluating whether children were good or disobedient in behaviour at the start of the season of Eastertide.
