Fiji : Unique Stamps for GPH

THE Grand Pacific Hotel (GPH) and Post Fiji Ltd launched a range of unique stamps depicting the \”grand old lady\’s\” 100th anniversary in Suva yesterday.Post Fiji Ltd chairman Lawrence Tikaram said they were privileged to partner with GPH in creating awareness for this national heritage in Fiji. There are five different stamps for the GPH issue — each has a different value and image.\”The different values assigned by Post Fiji for the stamps are 40 cents, 65 cents, 90 cents, $1.20 and $5.

Their value are high in demand for letters and parcel postage locally and to countries like Australia, New Zealand, UK and US,\” he said.Having these stamps on letters and parcels being sent to family and friends overseas, he said, was an indirect form of marketing awareness for the hotel and most importantly Fiji.The last GPH stamp issue printed by Post Fiji was in 1979 and they still had minimal stocks available.GPH general manager Eugen Diethelm said the five stamps were created by Pravin Sen.\”We have also created for stamp collector envelope with all five stamps on it and this is on sale at GPH for $10,\” Mr Diethelm said.(Source-Fiji Times)
