in related to said item i made an order through on line snapdeal.com at the cost of Rs.300+50 for postage charges but to my surprise i received only child’s eye view book without stamp pack and i have made a report to india post concerned department and also to snapdeal.com but so far i have not received any information from both sides so at this juncture i have been put to task and i do not know what is the remedy available to rectify the same whether it is a loss or i will be compensated if any one knows please help me in this matter

  2. Dinu says:

    Oh no
I have placed order yesterday to snapdeal.
    I am afraid .
No idea what will be there inside the packet.
that is the only reason I have not ordered the Rs5500/- book as contents are not clearly marked.

  3. g. ramkumar says:

india post philately has further displayed more products in snapdeal.com
and the cost of each product is highly valued and my request to co philatelists not to fall as victims by seeing free bees they are all not worth for collection so have a second thought before you place order and if there is any discrepancy you cannot recover from them and it is a question of fact to approach consumer court as e-commerce is new to our country it is my personal experience in so many ways i have contacted and all in vain

  4. ANIL KR PUJARA says:

I fully agree. This particular product of India Post is very much over priced. The images of all stamps/ms issued by India Post on Children Day are even not given what to talk of real stamp/ ms.Not at all worth the cost being charged by India Post.

  5. Dinu says:

My fear was justified. After returning to country saw the sealed packet was with my colleague (non philatelist) .

No stamps inside. Poor binding- Supreme high price for such a awful book. I think this was advertised/ shown in INDIPEX 11 venue and was in store when someone wanted to make a quick buck. NOONE should buy this.
    I think #@%$###

If this way IP wants to promote philately among the Children shame on them . Children will only get disheartened.
They should refund this money to all buyer – Product detail was poorly furnished and was carrying wrong impression of having MS. With the amount they have charged all depicted MS could have been purchased from dealers.

It was a nice April fool day for IP.

i am very-much thankful to the persons for the comments given who were also fooled in the same way i was fooled but i am regret to inform that not only with respect to this product the another one with respect to ghandhi booklet which contains images and only one stamp value for rs.25/-and khadhi stamp pack along with philatelic m/s and sathyagraha m/s the total cost amounts to rs.200/-(25/-) +250/-+20/-+25/- = 495/- but the cost is rs.900/- +50/- for postal or delivery charges. it shows that ordering through philatelic deposit account through postal administration is better than through snapdeal which is having a collaboration agreement with india post and making a huge money in a easy way on online business without any product assurance as per the disclosure which is not in proportionate with the specifications and further to this we cannot go to court as still we are not assured in what way e-commerce business will be taken into consideration by law of india which is a great advantage to them. further to this, as per our knowledge this type of business has been introduced by the new administration with in short duration of period after coming into power, as a philatelist we have to think for the reason behind it and which is not countable it is left for us only just by sharing our humiliation and our inability to move.

  7. ANIL KR PUJARA says:

Besides if you order two copies, you are charged postage for both separately though both are delivered in same pack togather. What a irony?

  8. Dinu says:

In my opinion no one should buy from snap deal as contents are not clear.
Will it be too far fetched if some fertile brain thinks it to be a indirect push or a nexus of IP to promote dealers by publishing books without stamps such that the deceived customer is forced to buy the stamps from market.
Why is the package content is not clearly described on the package. I think there is a trade practice rule which makes it mandatory to publish the package contents clearly?

  9. Dinu says:

Even the first two lines of this post States that there is a stamp pack. This is also misleading. Editor or writer must own up.

    • g. ramkumar says:

the said stamp pack implies that the real stamps or miniature sheet as it can be viewed as a part of the childrens philatelic collection. that is the first one is related to a childrens eye view book as shown the first and last pages of the book in the above said image and the second one is stamps pack of childrens day which is also shown as images of stamps and miniature sheets along with the image of the folder printed as india postage stamps with the peacock symbol of philately bureau of india. just for viewing the content of the pack images are shown separately along with image of the folder by the author of this post as an information sake and not otherwise. in the same way snapdeal also reflected the images as shown above and along with the description as stated. for this if possible can be get it confirmed by visiting the site. so nothing is misleading and we are only fooled either by india post or by snapdeal without supplying as per specification.

  10. R.PURUSHOTHAMAN says:

First we should understand the functioning of the government departments and especially department of post. Then we can know why this is happening.

From top to bottom no body knows what is philately. They dont have any basic idea about philately and to top it there is lack of any commonsense which is common.

The department functions with people at various levels working without consulting any one. In case of the booklet under discussion it must have been submitted for approval with images of stamps. The gentleman responsible for fixing the price assumes them to be real stamps and accordingly fixed the price. Then another department arranged for printing. But there is no department to fix the stamps. Above all there is no one to coordinate all the activities. This is why sometimes the brochures issued are much bigger than the first day covers and the covers are much smaller than the Miniatures sheets. This is the typical example of functioning of the government departments. As such it is not fraud but pure inefficiency. We have two choices: Go to private and get swindled or face the inefficiencies of the government. In case of calendars they are so highly priced no body purchase them. Every year the department prints huge number of calendars only to be wasted at the end of the year. It is due to unrealistic princing policy. Nobody bothers to find out the reason and rectify. Typical government offices have no ears to listen not to speak of the mind. Whatever may be the ruling party the mentality of the government officers will never never change, nay change for the worse.

Just to add .. even if some body bother, their top most God granted IP&TS boss who thought to be most intelligent would not listen to it becuase .. such blunder may done under his nose and he want to cover up all mess and not worried becuase no direct financial loss to govt. i feel in govt. someone is accounted for financial loss not for stock remained.

i am very much happy to note that there are as many as responses for this collectible item because there is no issue for children’s day special due to change in government policy childrens are considered to be a neglected product for this year. really it is an astonishing matter to be considered and has been viewed by our philatelists in different aspects for the same subject. further to this i am happy to pass a matter through this channel that at last i have succeed to some extent that the ordered product will be replaced by snapdeal and have been asked to return the collected product so it is a successful story to share with you all and let us wait to receive the product along with the childrens postage stamp collection that is the real stamp.
