Designer of 600+ Nepali Postal Stamps Rana No More

KATHMANDU: Noted philatelic designer Mohan Narsingh Rana passed away while undergoing treatment at the Norvic Hospital in Kathmandu on Sunday. He was 60.Rana, who worked as designer at the art section of the Department of Postal Services for long, had been suffering from throat cancer since some years. He retired from government service two years back while he was in the post of Under Secretary. He had designed more than 600 postage stamp covers. According to Under Secretary at the Department, Niranjan Rijal, Rana was a noted postage stamp designer in the country. He has also received national and international awards as a distinguished postage stamp designer, Rijal added.Rana had also designed the stamp issued to commemorate the Golden Jubilee Celebration of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti
