On 4th July 2014, District Consumer Forum (Jaipur) decided case no.1125/2013 titled
Ullas Jain vs CPMG(Rajasthan Circle) & Postmaster,SMHO (Delhi Circle) pertaining to deficiency in the service of the philatelist. Deficiency was made in Philatelic account services provided to the philatelist. When the philatelist visited the post office and demanded complaint book he was denied by the officials. Writing a complaint in complaint book is a right of the consumer and denial is deficiency in service. The philatelist took serious note of the same and lodged a consumer case. In his case Mr.Ullas Jain demanded Rs.10000/- for mental harassment and Rs 3000/- for litigation expenses. The hon\’ble court appreciated the philatelist\’s awareness about the consumer movement and awarded a compensation of Rs 13000/- I.e. exactly the same as demanded by the philatelist.
