China Issued Stamps to Celebrate Grand Canal World Heritage Status

\"chinaChina issued commemorative stamps and envelopes to celebrate the successful inscription of the Grand Canal on the list of World Heritage Sites in Hangzhou, east China\’s Zhejiang province, on June 23, 2014.The stamp set consists of 10 specially designed stamps, each with a painting of the 10 famous scenic spots along the Grand Canal, the world\’s longest artificial waterway, as depicted in the works of famous painters.Additionally, each envelope set consists of three different envelops, with a sentence reading: \”China\’s Grand Canal is officially inscribed on the list of World Heritage Sites\”.A limited edition of only 20,000 commemorative sets will be issued in the province.
