IOM: Tour de France 2014 Stamp Issue

\"tourCycling is coming home or so it will seem when the Tour de France returns to Britain to be cheered on by the crowds at le Grand Depart in Yorkshire. To celebrate the Tour’s fourth visit to this side of the channel, Isle of Man Post issued  series of officially-licensed collectables which brings to life the UK Tour stages and three stand-out stages from Belgium and France.

To celebrate the Tour’s fourth visit to this side of the channel and the first since 2007 when it began in London, Isle of Man Post Office has produced a special edition collection for le Grand Depart Yorkshire 2014, inspired by the heroes of the Tour and the landmarks The Greatest Race will pass-by.

Focusing on the three stages of the UK Tour and three stand-out stages from Belgium and France, the collection maps the route from Leeds to the spectacular finale on the Champs Elysees in Paris, offering insight into why the Tour de France is widely regarded as the toughest endurance test in sport, the significance of the iconic landmarks and the spectacular scenery en route.

This colorful collection contains a set of six pictorial sheets, a set of six large-format prepaid postcards, collectors wallet, special cover postmarked 5th July and a personally signed and hand numbered cover by Brian Robinson, limited to just 500 editions.

This officially licensed issue is a must-have for all collectors and fans of Le Tour as the ultimate commemoration of Le Tour de France Grand Depart Yorkshire 2014.
