Philatelic Pleasure

\"buddha\"buddhaBy Anil Kr Pujara

In March 2013, during NAWADA FESTIVAL, a special cover on Sun Temple was released. I knew that if I use se-tenant issued by India Post in the past in the year 2001 on SUN TEMPLE , KONARK, it will make the cover OVER VALUED, still as I had all along maintained that hobby of Philately is purely  a matter of personal pleasure, I used Normal se-tenant  n Reverse se-tenant  n got it cancelled on two SPECIAL COVERS which are part of my Personal Collection.\"konark

I thought I must share it with the readers of Philamirror so here it is. A special Cover on Sun Temple, se-tenant issued on Sun Temple n cancellation of offering Ark to Lord Sun. Visual Delight for me at least n may be for many more too.

I am unable to understand what the hon’ble philatelist meant by overvalued. It appears that instead of pleasure, the real agenda is business.
Any philatelist who knows little about philately tries to affix related stamp on special covers and get it cancelled.
There is nothing substantial in this article.
It is only for naive philatelists.
Website owner should publish only those articles in which there is innovation.

I really appreciate the wisdom of my wise friend for reading what is nowhere in the agenda. How it is interpreted as business as real agenda is beyond my comprehension. However, I may clarify what I meant by OVERVALUE is that special cover requires affixing of Rs.5/= stamp. Any amount over n above the minimum required value is termed n understood as OVERVALUED ONLY. Here I may clarify the interpretation appears to from a biased angle. I have already clarified n titled it as PHILATELLIC PLEASURE ONLY. If any BUSINESS ANGLE is attributed to any item of Philatellic Pleasure, then any body is free to interpret in the manner that suits them. It is also mentioned that it is for only VISUAL DELIGHT. Thus what substantial is being found can not be understood by me n many like me.

Further hurling any type of criticism is very common n easy for any n everyone. INNOVATIVE ARTICLE IS WELCOME FROM EVERYONE. FURTHER defintion of INNOVATION varies from person to person. Not necessary everyone should like everything. Instead of suggestion to the moderator of the site, contribution of innovative article would have benefitted everyone.

Recently the hon’ble philatelist displayed (on this website)one special cover of Shershah Suri with cancelled undervalued stamp on front side.On that occasion he did not use the term ‘undervalued’.
I reiterate that every philatelist tries to affix related stamp on special covers irrespective of value of stamp. There is nothing innovative or special in it.

  5. Zoya Mendoca says:

The latest trend is to affix ‘My Stamp’ on the special cover.
The hon’ble philatelist might remember Madras Christian Colege special cover(Chennai,2013),MSS special cover(Basavangudi, 2013),Valentina Tereshkova special cover(2013,NewDelhi) and many more. All these used ‘My Stamp’.
One should be with the new trends otherwise there are chances of lagging behind.

Suggestions should be given only when requested I feel.As regards Sher Shah Suri cover, pl see the image of back side of the cover displayed. Requirement of required value should b fixed not necessary on the front of the cover.

I am not into giving suggestions. However I am very much interested in showing the mirror.
