Russia Issued Stamps on Sochi 2014 Paralympic Games

\"russiaThe first block of three stamps dedicated to the Paralympic medals \”Sochi-2014,\”  has been issued in Sochi on 17 March 2014.The unique block of stamps was issued within the philatelic program \”Sochi-2014.\” It consists of three separate brands, each of which depicts one medal of the Paralympic Winter Games in Sochi – gold, silver and bronze.The philatelic novelty has no analogues in the world in terms of of design and technical features of production: three types of metallic paint – bronze , silver and gold – were simultaneously used for the creation of the bloc, as well as so-called hot stamping. This technology gives the picture a kind of 3D effect: touching the stamps, one feels miniature medals under the fingers.The new block will be circulated in 150 thousand copies. Each brand has its own denomination: the stamp depicting a gold medal is worth 75 rubles, the stamp depicting a silver medal is worth 50 rubles, and the stamp depicting bronze medal is worth 25 rubles. The block size is 136  X 80mm.
