Ujjainites thronged to visit two- day long postage stamp exhibition being conducted at Post Office located at Revenue Colony in the city on Thursday. Postage stamps from ancient times to the modern generation are on display in the exhibition. City philatelists are excited to see the rare stamps displayed in the exhibition. According to senior superintendent NP Aarse, the postage stamp was inaugurated at Revenue Colony located Post Office by Sandipani Rashtriya Veda Vidya Pratishthan Secretary Dr Rupkishore Shastri on Thursday morning.
Two day exhibition is open for public visit between 10 am and 7 pm. Philatelists will be rewarded in different categories on the concluding day of the exhibition. There are rarest of postage stamps, including that of Hindu Lords, great leaders and several other foreign stamps on the display in the exhibition.Stamps having images of Lord Ganesha, famous painting of Leonardo Da Vinci’s Monalisa and many others are most liked by visitors.
Superintendent also informed that postage stamps and postcards of various philatelists are on the display in the exhibition. Postcards of Holkar State, Scindia State and a variety of South Indian States will be on display during the exhibition. There are several stamps having images of Hindu Lords including Ganesha, Ram- Sita, Durga, Kalika and Shiva. There are also the postcards of 18th century on display.
