The Earliest Use of Advertisements of Postal Products through Cancellations

In India postal products were used for advertising about 80 years ago.Here two examples are exhibited In an envelope ‘BUY POSTAL CASH CERTIFICATES’ stamped in a Cancellation dated-3 MAR 1934-4.45PM HISSAR.The second is a  post card of Gwalior state  depicted as ‘USE CORRECT AND ADDRESS ENSURES QUICK DELIVERY’ the Cancellation done separately- (Varanasi spell as BENARES 26 PM 3 JLY 1950)

  1. It was just publicity or awareness campaigns. Advertising is different. Commercial. Here you are PAID. For a PRODUCT / SERVICE that are to be SOLD /MARKETED . Soundararajan. Tiruchirapalli.

    DEAR S/S PAREEKH/S.RAJAN, MY EXHIBIT WAS ON DISPLAY IN PATPEX IN MID 2007 OR AROUND,THE THEN OUR C.P.M.G SRI KAMLESHWER PRASAD (PRESENTLY MEMBER BOARD OF INDIA POST) POINTED ME LOOK THESE ARE THE FIRST ADD OVER POSTAL STATIONERY,THIS IS THE STORY.
