Stamps will be released on the Bicentennial of Indian Museum, Kolkata

\"stampIndia Post will issue a set of 4 commemorative postage stamps and 1 miniature sheet on the bicentennial of Indian Museum, Kolkata. The stamps tentatively will be formally released by Pranab Mukharjee, President of India on February 2,2014 at the museum auditorium, subjected to the payment of ₹3504400.00 by Indian Museum to India Post for the mandatory purchase of 0.4m stamps and as the cost of organizing the stamp-release program.
On July 27,1978, as part of 4 stamps issued on the musea of India, a 50P stamp was released on Indian Museum, Kolkata featuring its collection of Kalpadruma of Besnagar. Thus the stamps on bicentennial of Indian Museum, Kolkata will be issued in contravention of Rule 11 of Commemorative Postage Stamp Rules of India Post.

    As mentioned in this blog also, India Post does not have ‘Rules’ to
    follow strictly. These so called rules are just guidelines.
