Romania – Russian Federation Joint Stamp Issue

\"romania-russiaCelebrating 10 years since the signing of the Basic Political Treaty (2003) on Friendly Relations and Cooperation between Romania and the Russian Federation, Romfilatelia joins the project initiated by the Romanian and Russian Ministries of Foreign Affaires and marks this event by introducing into circulation the anniversary postage stamps issue CULTURE AND SPIRITUALITY – LIAISON FOR A SUSTAINABLE PARTNERSHIP, Romania and the Russian Federation – 10 years since the signing of the Treaty on Friendly Relations and Cooperation.

This issue was illustrated using, on the same postage stamp, two symbols of Romanian and Russian culture: Romanian Athenaeum and Bolshoi Theatre. The two reference edifices from the capital cities of the two countries were chosen to portray this issue precisely because of their symbolic significance and the importance they have in their state history.
