Austria : New Stamp on 700 Years of the Walser in Vorarlberg

\"austriaAustrian post issued a commemorative stamp celebrating the 700years of the settlement of Walser people in Vorarlberg and depicting the Holy Theodule, patron saint of Walser.According to a historical document, the first Walser settlement was found in the region of Vorarlberg (now the westernmost federal state in Austria) on 29 of May 1313. The 700th anniversary from this event became an occasion of celebration with a colorful dance festival for the Vararlberg Walser community.  The celebrations will also take place in other Walser communities. The weekend celebration was proclaimed by the municipality from 31 of May to 2 of June.
