India Post is releasing a commemorative postage stamp on centenary of Delhi Gymkhana Club today.One of the oldest clubs of India set up on 3rd July, 1913. It was then called the \”Imperial Delhi Gymkhana Club\” and Mr. Spencer Harcourt Butler was its first President. When India gained Independence in 1947, the word \”Imperial\” was dropped and it was simply known as \”Delhi Gymkhana Club\”. Sir Usha Nath was the first Indian President of the Club. The Club so far has had 47 Presidents. The present President is Lt Gen M R Kochhar,PVSM,AVSM(Retd). It is located in the heart of Lutyens Delhi next to the Prime Minister\’s residence.
