Wildpex 2013 Organized at Rajkot

Rajkot ; Gujarat: First time in India & second time in Asia ,  at Shri. Shyamaprashad Art \"wildpexGallery ,Race Course , RAJKOT    “Wildpex-2013” PHILATELIC EXHIBITION on wild Life – Biodiversity  organized by PARITRI UPADHYAY [ F -17,wild life philatelist & International winner, studying in 12th science ]  & HETVI SHAH[ f-14, Rajpex-2011 winner ]  of-  Rajkot Philatelic society under the age of India Post Philatelic Bureau, Rajkot,  The Exhibition  was inaugurated 0n 13th April 2013  by Shri. Govind Patel – Hon’ble Minister – Forest & Environment, Govt. Of Gujarat &  Hon’ble PMG – Shri. Ram Bharosa IPS  was a Chief Guest   ,   Shri. R N Maheshwari – Sr.Post Master GPO Rajkot , Prof. Anamic  Shah of Saurashtra University, Shri. H C Mehta – Sr.  Philatelist  on the dies as a Guest of Honors.  In her Wel come speech Ms. Paritri said that Postage stamps are not a “small pieces of paper they can tell a story or\"wildpex particular topic.     Stamp being a cultural ambassadors. Ms. Hetvi  told that the  main object of the exhibition is to create awareness amongst Local  peoples , their families & particularly School Children towards the Philately with  MAIN OBJECTIVE IS TO PROMOTE PHILATELY, she also said that  wildlife unfolds rich heritage of flora & fauna and some of them are at the stage of serious threat.

\"wildpexIntention of this special Exhibition is to know about, because of their intelligence, visibility and frequent interaction with humans hold a special place in people\’s mind. The biggest threat to them is their accidental capture which kills hundreds at thousand of them each year. The other major factor of their decline is due to destructions or degradation of their natural habitat. These endangered species are ringing a vital bell which we should pay serious attention to. Through this Exhibition turn the spotlight on one of the major global concerns of today : safe guarding, protecting wildlife it\’s habitat and ecology by trains our power of observation, improves our perception, broadness our views and to add to our knowledge  to inculate love for NATURE & its conservation Invites alternation to the rich zoological heritage need to preserve this legacy for generations to come.

The inauguration ceremony was witnessed by well attended audience, including invitees, and more prominently the school children from the various schools. While welcoming the guest stated the importance of philatelic exhibitions.  Sr.advocate & freelance wild life photographer Shri. Kamlesh Shah  was also addressed the gathering. He felt proud that for organizing such exhibition.   After the formal inauguration the Chief Guest along with other dignitaries visited the Exhibition hall and shown keen interest in some exhibits. There are more than 70  frames of exhibits are in display , mostly on Wild life Theme  along with the display of PRIDE OF INDIA COLLECTION  – Replica of 25 postage stamps on Gold.A Work shop on Stamp collection; Power point presentation on Stamp collecting & News Clippings of Rainbow Stamp News are shown to School Children by Sanjay Rathod – presedent of RPS.

Closing ceremony was held on 15th April 2013, by Dr.M G Maradia – Supritendent of Pradyuman Zoological Park, Rajkot. “The success is judged on the basis of how many visitors take the advantage of such philatelic exhibition & we were happy that large numbers of visitors spent hours and enjoyed the exhibition.”-said Ms. Surbhi Rathod in her vote of thanks speech.  All concerned members & staff worked hard to make this event a memorable one .
