50 Stamps on 100 Years of Indian Cinema? It should have been more reasonable to issue 100 Stamps on 100 Years celebration!!! Most of you will agree to this innovative idea of IndiaPost.

  2. Sandeep says:

The film personalities depicted in stamps released by the President include Ashok Kumar, Bhalji Pendharkar, Durga Khote, Dev Annad, Yash Chopra, Smita Patil, Rajesh Khanna, Shammi Kapoor, Suraiya, Geeta Dutt, Sohrab Modi, Tapan Sinha, C.V. Sridhar, Bhanumathi etc.

  3. DINESH MEHTA says:

I think it is first time post depart.issuing a large no.of stamps 50 stamps on one subject on the same may be world record also.thanks.

  4. Anil Nawlakhe says:

Its QUANTITATIVE progress hope not at the cost of QUALITY… India perhaps celebrating the International Year of STATISTICS simultaneously. A 2 in 1 thinking’s.

  5. Sudhir Jain says:

Please publish image on the stamps / M/s. as early as possible.

One of those very rare occasions when MORE seems like
    a problem of PLENTY.

  7. Dinu says:

Nice attempt for a Guinness book of record.

  8. ANIL KR PUJARA says:

I feel it would have been proper to issue 100 stamps to celeberate 100 years of Indian Cinema n more appropriate also. Anyway Wonderful are the Ways of INDIA POST. No one atleast in this birth n on this Earth can understand.

Thanks a lot for showing the Cinema-100 Stamps.

Stamps on Dev Anand, Rajesh Khanna & Smita Patil are
    particularly beautiful.

  10. Dinu says:

Stamps were not received in Delhi Bureau yesterday.

To make the matter worse and by keeping everyone in suspense an empirical desire is being whipped up – whetting the apetite? Such that the cash register goes on overdrive?

Noone in Delhi Bureau seems to Know when will this be available – Is it possible that Babudom does not know the date? What sort of farce is this?

The common refrain is that information is not received from Directorate, who or whom is above approach of a common person. Red beacon, away from Public seems to be the order of the day.
Is it really impossible to give a date and stick to it. Babus are more prone in behind hiding behind a very flexible system and not ready to take up responsibility.

We miss ministers like Hon’bleR A Kidwai, whose visit to then Calcutta GPO still sends shivers down the spine many existing babus. No moral responsibility .

I have personally visited Chandigarh, Ambala, Ludhiana, Delhi, Patna, Ranchi, Durgapur, Calcutta, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Coimbatore, Cochin (Ernaculam) GPO / HPO in last three years and found very dismal picture in all the GPO.

Rude behavior will be an understatement.

Most funny thing was the Swamiji’s permanent pictorial cancellation was missing from Beadon Streen post office and I was told that was for few days only there and has been returned to Cal – GPO. In GPO nobody could tell me where is it???????!!!!!!

I heard a unconfirmed rumor that stamp packets made for distibuting to students (to increase awareness on philately!!!!! during INDIPEX 2011) is lying somewhere in Sansad Marg Post office building .

Inconvenience caused while reading this post is regretted.

  11. On the eve of 100 years of Indian cinema, India Post has issued a large number of commemorative postage stamps on the luminaries of Indian cinema, which is indeed a noble gesture.

But, it is indeed disheartening to note that a number of legends have been overlooked. Prominently- Husnalal Bhagatram, Khemchand Prakash & Anil Biswas – the legendary music directors. And, one and only- Kidar Sharma, the genius producer, director, poet, lyricist, photographer and above all a master of all traits of cinema.

  12. ANIL KR PUJARA says:

Till today not a single stamp/ms has been received even at Sansad Marg Bureau . No body knows when will it come for sale. Not only that even FDC n Broucher have also been not received. Only catchet design has come on mail to Bureaus n date of release is indicated as 03.06.2013. What a PARADOX? INDIA POST PL KEEP IT UP.NO MATCH TO UR EFFICIENCY. WE TALK OF PROUD TO BE INDIAN. GOOD. TOO GOOD.
