125 Glorious Years Faculty of Performing Arts (1886-2011), The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda.
In 1886, Bharatiya Sangeet Vidyalaya – Gayan Shala was founded by the Late Maharaja Sayajirao of Baroda. The oldest institution of its kind in India imparting education in Performing Arts Completed its 125 Glorious Years. On establishment of The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda the \”Gayan Shala\” in 1949 developed to \”The College of Indian Music, Dance and Dramatics\” and further in 1984 present status of faculty \”The Faculty of Performing Arts\”.

This irrigation reservoir and wetland located 10 km from Dabhoi and 20 kms from the Jambughoda Village, is the water source for 25 nearby villages, and a popular Bird watching site for Species including stork, Tern Ibis and Spoonbill.
HIRA GATE – DABHOI DIST, VADODARA – Archeological Survey of India
This beautiful Hira gate is built in 13th Century A.D. At the right side of the gate there is a temple of Kalika mata. On Hira-gate, there are six pilasters on each side which are supported on the elaborate corbelled brackets. Both faces of the gate are full of sculptural representations of Hindu deities like Siva, Lakshmi, Vishnu, scene of chuming of the ocean and legends from the Mahabharatha. On the inner side of this gate, is a famous inscription of 1311 Samvat(1254-55 A.D.) composed by Someshwar Dev, the Court poet of Vishaldev, a Vaghela ruler. The Hira-Gate is well recognized for its highly sculpted over-hanging balconies.
