Pakistan:Stamp to Commemorate First Wind Farm Power Project

\"firstTo increase public awareness of the energy crisis, the Pakistan Post  released a commemorative stamp of Rs15 on the completion of the first ever wind power project in the country.Stamp was issued on 24th Dec 2012.

The 50 megawatt wind power project has been developed with the facilitation of the Alternative Energy Development Board (AEDB) at Jhimpir, district Thatta. President Asif Ali Zardari inaugurated the project on December 24.According to the AEDB, four other projects of 50 MW each or more are under-construction and dozens others under-preparation. The Thatta corridor presents good wind resource and theoretically over 48,000 MW can be installed there.
