The President of India Pranab Mukharjee today released a commemorative postage stamp to mark the 25th anniversary of the Consumer Protection Act in 2012.The Consumer Protection Act-1986 completes 25 years this year. It aims to give protection to the interest of the consumers.The Act also provides for establishment of three-tier quasi-judicial consumer disputes redressal machinery at the district, state and national level to render inexpensive and speedy justice to consumers.
