Story of Special Cover’s on 25 Year’s of Speed Post (26):Tripura and Manipur

\"\"By Anil Kr Pujara

After Guwahati and Shillong, I now move to Agartala and Imphal. Though getting cancellation from Imphal was not only difficult but getting Cancellation from Agartala was the toughest job.All those philatelist friends who had ever dealt with Agartala Bureau will agree with me that even Post Master was not cooperative.

\"\"On one pretext or the above, he kept on creating hurdles and adopting non-cooperative attitude. This was the last cancellation that came in my collection that too with the intervention of Highest Authority. Any way all is well that ends well. The thing is that anything  that you get with greatest difficulty only gives you the satisfaction of highest order. This is what happened in this case with me. You will agree with me in this regard.

How did you manage to get a cancellation from Agartala. I had tried to search for a philatelic counter in Agartala GPO but was bluntly told that there is nothing as such. Even commemorative stamps are not available. Anything if required, I have to wait if they come from Kolkata GPO , or better that I go to Kolkata GPO.
Do you know someone there whom I can contact for this?

I have also faced same problem from agartala Bureau. I had tried to collect FDC of Godiji temple from all the Bureaus of India. But still only one left, which is Agartala. I had sent M.O., I had sent Stamped FDC for cancellation, I had managed to send one person personally. But till date not received the FDC.

  3. I agree the condition n working of Agartala Bureau is very pathetic.
