\"\"Czech post issued a set of stamps Flower Growing – Beauty of Orchids. The stamps feature exotic orchids originating from foreign locations. This is the first time in the history of Czechoslovak and Czech design that this motif has been chosen for a stamp.The orchid family is a diverse and widespread family of flowering plants with colorful and fragrant blooms.Along with the Asteraceae, it is one of the two largest families of flowering plants, with between 21,950 and 26,049 currently accepted species, found in 880 genera.Tropical and subtropical orchids are grown in the Czech Republic, not only in botanic gardens but also by ordinary people in their greenhouses, conservatories, and flats.Date of Issue: 5 September 2012 Denominations: 62 CZK
