Malaysia:New Stamps on 55th Merdeka Celebration.

\"\"Malaysia has released a series of stamps to commemorate the 55th Merdeka celebration.The stamps, titled “Malaysian Unity (Series II)” were created to focus on the 1Malaysia concept, which comprises interracial unity and national harmony.The stamps, measuring 30mm x 50mm, feature four different designs capped at 60 sen each.Titled “Perpaduan – Bahasa” (Unity through Language), “Perpaduan – Sukan” (Unity through Sports), “Perpaduan – Tarian” (Unity through Dance), and “Perpaduan – Gotong Royong” (Unity through Cooperation to Attain a Shared Goal), they serve to encourage all Malaysians to uphold national unity and integrate with each other. 300,000 copies of each stamp and 25,000 first day covers have been printed, said Pos Malaysia\’s head of stamp and philately Yasmin Ramli.First day covers will be sold for RM2.90 with a set of cancelled stamps and 50 sen without them.Matching folders will also be available for RM5.50 each.
