Ireland Issued Stamps on 50th International Eucharistic Congress

\"\"An Post issued two stamps on 7th June 2012 to commemorate the 50th International Eucharistic Congress which takes place in Dublin from 10-17 June.International Eucharistic Congresses are staged every four years and was last staged in Ireland in 1932. The theme of the 50th Congress is \”The Eucharist: Communion with Christ and one another\”.The aim of the Congress is to promote an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Church and to also draw attention to the social dimension of the Eucharist. The Congress will conclude with an open air Mass and closing ceremony in Croke Park, Dublin.The stamps were designed by Martin Barlow.
