Commenting on the participation, Ibrahim Bin Karam, Chief Commercial Officer of Emirates Post Group, said: \”It was a successful participation for Emirates Post as a large number of people viewed the stamps. Such exhibitions offer a unique opportunity to showcase the local culture through stamps. In addition, by taking part under the common umbrella of the GCC, we were able to convey the common cultural traits and highlight the similarities in heritage of the region.\”
The UAE participation in the international philatelic event under the GCC umbrella follows a decision by GCC postal organizations to participate in international stamp exhibition as a single entity, instead of individual countries. Such participation serves to demonstrate to the world community that GCC countries share a common culture and heritage.
