Nevis will Issue Stamp on Runako Morton

\"\"Persons wishing to have a memorabilia for the late Runako Morton can purchase a commemorative stamp bearing the Nevisian cricketer\’s image.The stamp officially was released in May 2007 by the Nevis Island Administration (NIA) in conjunction with the Nevis Postal Services to commemorate the 2007 International Cricket Council\’s (ICC) Cricket World Cup which was hosted in the West Indies that year for the first time in its history. The ICC World Cup is considered one of the biggest sporting events in the world.Eight island venues were chosen to host the event including St. Kitts -Nevis; Morton was the only player from the Federation selected to play on the West Indies Squad for that tournament. Patricia Blake, officer in charge at Philatelic Bureau told The Observer that the stamp saw resurgence after Morton passed on March 4, however they were only available for purchase at the Bureau.Available are the single stamp mint valued at $2.90, the first day cover at $ 5, the souvenir sheet valued at $6 and first day cover valued at $7.50(
