Canada:Regina Artist puts his Stamp

\"\"Canada Post issued a stamp on 23rd Feb 2012 depicting Capillery, a laser-cut made of steel and bronze by Saskatchewan artist Joe Fafard. They are all images on a new set of stamps in the ongoing Art Canada series, featuring work by Regina sculptor Joe Fafard. The colourful, somewhat lighthearted stamps are photographs of Fafard’s work, and will be officially unveiled in Regina on March 2.“We anticipate these will be really popular stamps, because they’re very accessible images and quite fun,” said Canada Post spokesman Eugene Knapik. “We try here at Canada Post to present an array of stamps to present the many aspects of Canadian life, and the art series is one of those,” Knapik explained. In a first for the series, the artwork being showcased is three-dimensional.That meant the artworks and camera had to be at the right able to capture the complexities of the sculptures.
