      Dear Sir,

I called Mumbai GPO but they are also refusing for availability of collectors pack 2009, saying that it is not possible that anybody purchase this from this gpo.

Dear friends, a real pity. Collector pack 2009 available after 2 years. Feels like drinking stale tea.
Chandigarh Philately Bureau is yet to start making these packs.
Besides just look at the handling of stamps inside these year packs. Beautiful stamps stuffed like rotten vegetables alongwith cardboard pieces and cheap quality paper.
Later we spend hundreds of Euros importing stamp mounts from Europe and US for preserving these stamps.
India Post should pull up its socks. They better start supplying the year pack on time, with stamps decently mounted in good quality mounts in the form of a nice presentation album and alongwith all technical details.
Philatelists will buy it with even more enthusiasm.

    • Dinu says:

      Dear Sandeepji,
It is your problem that you spend money to preserve the stamps. It is not problem of India post.

They sell stamp in bulk to dealer – easier than selling 2 – 3 stamps per person – who stores the stamp and many gets damaged and we fools buy those stamps and try to peserve it.

Please do not burden those over burdened poor creatures with your problem :-)

Better feel happy and lucky and you might get a year pack. I do not know if by some astrological congretion I can be there in the bureau on “Shubh muhurat’ of release of year pack.

  6. SUNIL KUMAR GARG says:

It feels like a Treasure Chest whenever I receive my Collerctor’s Pack!
The worst packet was that of 1995-just a window envelope in red.
The exemplary was that of 2005. Unfortunately ’05 presentation
did not set the trend & IndiaPost went merrily along it’s bad/old
    ways thereafter.
IndiaPost charges a premium for these packs that is not justified
considering the quality of the material used in such packs.
Anyways, I still eagerly await my pack every year!

    Hi,
I am new in Philatelic, I opened PD account in Delhi GPO but they didn’t provide me the option of Collectors pack, When i asked for why it is not available then the reason was only 500 packs are available and everyone is asking for it and 90% PC A/c have choose option of Collectors pack(If they don’t provide this options how the 90% people choose this option), so we don’t provide this option and sale would be via counter.
When i asked for approximately date then they told me called after two months.
I think there are many philatelist on this page.
Kindly suggest me what should i(we) do as i asked for only 1 not for a stock.

      • Dinu says:

        Dear Madam,

My plight is similar. On my young son’s demand I have restarted the hobby. My missing period is 1991 – 2006. I too have met many lions in sheep skin. One person from Mumbai had initiated contact in this platform and have swindled me while dealing(I am making a write up with proofs to expose him) I have used stamps prior 1991 (not whole sets) and from 2008 I have mint.

In case you are interested I am open for exchange with spares with me with spares from you.

For details you may contact me GTN_K44@rediffmail.com
        Thanks

        • SHIV GARG says:

Dear Sh. Dinu, recently retired from a Government Job, I am a collector from Punjab, like you I too have a missing period of some years in my collection. While posted far away from my home for some ten years from the year 2001 to 2011, I failed to get my stamps and have nothing or little for these years. But from 1991 to 2000 I have all complete, nothing missing, have many in multiples also. I am interested in exchange of stamps for a mutual period, if you are interested. Please do write if you are interested, Thanks and regards,

i am from chennai will it be possible to get me a collector’s pack that is available. i will be much greatful to you.

  9. ANIL KR PUJARA says:

Dear Rahul dont worry, I shall provide you one 2009 collectors pack. My mobile no is 8987263093 n 9304003679.

  10. Dinu says:

You have to be extremely lucky to have a year pack in your hand

Gaurav, I am from Delhi too; Never put any logical deduction to find our reason on statements given to you as there is none. You will only be disappointed.
If it is not legally permitted to place order then why this option is there is form?
Even if everyone wants to place order for a year pack – where is the harm. It is income of India post. In this era of Computer every PDAC account holder’s requirement acroos the country can be summarised and Number of stamps to be printed can be increased to meet everyone’s need – yeah Sure! some short rule has to be established for account opened during the year – sale of year pack to all those need will surely increase revenue.
There is a saying where there is a will there is a way.

The will here seems to be getting the palm greased. See such huge inflation and cost of everything is increasing – how one can maintain family with only salary. Therefore amount of grease is directly proportional to the demand of a stamp. How does the dealers get ample yearpack – original packing of India post.
Look at ebay and you shall know what I am talking about.

    • gaurav says:

      Hi Dinu,
Well said, it is strange to see 2009 packs are available on ebay with a profit of 50% nearly 5-6 time of inflation rates.

  11. rahul says:

    Hi,
Yesterday, I got my collector pack 2009 but when i opened the seal this pack doesn’t contain stamps related to INTACH Heritage Centers
    1.Jaisalmer Fort, Jaisalmer
    2.Quila Mubarak, Patiala
    3.St. Ann’s Church, Goa
    4.Mangyu Monasteries, Ladakh

I am new in philatelic started collecting stamps from this year so i have no stamps related to “INTACH Heritage Centers”.Now my collector pack is useless due to some greedy people of india post. :(
This is happened in sealed pack, this is the limitation of corruption as people are involved in such small forgery.
