    This stamp is a beauty.

Even being a limited amount collector (normally block of 4) I could not resist to buy a full sheet of this.

In a scale of 0 to 10 in my view (yes, in my view) for stamps released so far in 2011
    Pt. Satnam – 0
Rashtrapati Bhawan – 6 (as I have read the comment from Sankha Samant)
    Punjab regiment – 9.5
    Kaviguru – 10

Kudos to the designer – yet to see the first day cancellation as every responsible in Philatelic bureau were present in the fucntion and the catchet was not there in sansad marg HPO as usual, (as per the policy??!!)

  3. SUNIL KUMAR GARG says:

    Punjab Regiment Stamp-nicely executed.
Also, I think that the design will attract at least 3 philatelic subgroups-
The Army, The Sikhs & the Ship.

  5. Pratyaksham BalaSubramanian says:

“The regiment is perhaps the only infantry regiment with naval Galley as an insignia, anywhere. It was awarded to 69th Punjabis (later 2nd PUNJAB) in recognition of the readiness to serve overseas, after the battalion had fought in eight overseas campaigns by 1824.”
