Italy Issued Stamp on International Year of Chemistry

\"\"The Italian Post celebrates the International Year of Chemistry (IYC 2011) by issuance of a special stamp. The stamp illustrates a molecular structure and some measuring glasses used in chemical laboratories. In the top right the logo of the Italian Chemical Society is reproduced.IYC 2011 commemorates the achievements of chemistry, and its contributions to humankind. This recognition for chemistry was made official by the United Nations in December 2008. Events for the year are being coordinated by IUPAC, the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, and by UNESCO, the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization.
