India Post released a special cover on 14th Sep 2011 on Acharya Balshastri Jambhekar.The First Marathi Magazine \”Digdarshan\” was founded and edited by Acharya Balshastri Jambhekar .He was  Appointed as the first Marathi Asstt. Professor in Elphinstone School, Mumbai in November 1834.He spread the message of Marathi education outside Mumbai. He knew 9 languages apart from Marathi and Sanskrit. Acharya Balshastri Jambhekar wrote 12 books i.e. 1. Niti Katha 2. Sar Sangrha 3. England Bakhar Part I & II 4. Bal Grammer . He was First and  founder Director of first teacher\’s training college, Board of Education Mumbai ,Established the first hostel for boys at Kalbadevi in Mumbai. And Founder of Mumbai Native Library, the first public library in Mumbai. Jambhekar was Founder of Native Improvement Society Mumbai also.
