\"\"An Post issued two stamps on 29th Sep 2011 under Irish Animals and Marine Life definitive series . The Irish Animals and Marine Life series illustrates Ireland’s biodiversity from the seabed to the mountain top. Biodiversity is an all-encompassing term used to describe the variety of all life and natural processes on Earth.The species featured on the stamps are; the Red Squirrel and the Bottlenose Dolphin.The Red Squirrel has a chestnut coloured upper body with buff to cream underside, noticeable ear tufts and fluffy tail and prefer to reside in woodland that contains a fair proportion of conifer trees.The Bottlenose Dolphin is typically 2.8-4m in length, extremely active and noted for bow-riding, breaching and somersaulting through the air.
