Its interesting to see commemoratives on film personalities. India Post has been paying tributes to film personalities for many years. Tribuites through ommemoratives were paid to actors, actresses, directors, singers writers, politicians, players etc. Shivaji Ganesan, Satyajit Ray, Bimal Roy, Bare Ghulam Ali Khan, Mohammad Rafi, Mukesh, C.K. Naidu, Nisar Ahmad, Lala Amarnath etc. etc. The services of these people were recognised only after their death. Why not we acknowledge the services of our stalwarts in their life time. There would not be any harm if awe ccept and recognise the services of living legends like Dilip Kumar, Yash Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt, Mani Ratnam, Amitabh Bachchan, Abbas Ali Beg, Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Sachin Tendulkar, Dilip Vengsarkar, Muhammad Azharuddin etc. When Sachin became the top scorer in the ciricket history, I had written a personal letters to Shri Sharad Pawar and then minister of posts and telegraph to to issue commemoratives and FDC, a miniature sheet to acknowledge the master blaster’s milestone. I don’t know if my letters even reached the ministers. Film fraternity awards Lifetime Achievement Awards to its sernior memebrs who have significantly contributed to the Indian film industry. Why can’t the India Post follow suit?

Probably India Post wait for the person to die to get the honour.

In my opinion we are chocked to the teeth by Humans Stamps.
More un-humans stamps is what India Post should be giving us.
