Nepal Will Participate in PHILANIPPON-2011

\"\"Nepal is going to compete in the World Stamp Exhibition in Yokohama, Japan, named PHILANIPPON-2011 from July 28-August 2.Nepal’s National Commission and life-time member of Nepal Philatelic Society Shyam Prasad Nuhuchhe said postal stamps of “A Tribute to Late King Mahendra” of Kaji Madhushdhan Raj Bhandari, “Revenue of Nepal” of Shyam Prasad Nuchhe, “Shree Pashupati Issue of Nepal” of Ujwal Shrestha and “Lord Buddha and Buddhism” of Hiraratna Tuladhar will be on display in the exhibition. This exhibition is being held in Japan every 10 years since 1971. Under the theme of “Stamps Link the World”, the fifth edition of the exhibition is being organised this year, marking the 140th anniversary of the Japanese postal service.According to the organiser, the exhibition aims not only at enhancing the development of philately, but also at promoting the enjoyment of collecting stamps and engaging in philatelic activities for children who will carry forward the future. World’s leading framed stamp collections from 65 countries and territories will be displayed in the exhibition.
