South Africa will on 12-08-2011 release a miniature sheet containing six stamps on vegetables.Vegetables are delicious, nutritious, healthy, versatile and affordable. Vegetables provide nutrients vital for health and maintenance of our bodies.

Spinach – Spinach has a high nutritional value and is very rich in antioxidants.

Tomatoes – Tomatoes are the richest source of lycopene in our diets. Tomatoes are also high in vitamins AmCmEmJm abd B complex.

Carrot – Carrots are an excellent source of beta-carotene,  which is converted into vitamin A by the body.

Beetroot – Beetroot contains vitamins, A,B1,B2,B6 and C. Its leaves have a higher iron content than spinach.

Cabbage –  Cabbage is an excellent source of manganese, calcium and potassium.It is also a good source of iron and magnesium, as well as a source of fibre.
