\"\"\"\"Royal Mail is issuing a set of stamps on to commemorate the Rev Wm Awdry who wrote the Thomas the Tank Engine stories.

2011 marks the centenary of the birth of the Reverend Wilbert Awdry, Thomas the Tank Engine creator. A ten-stamp issue, six printed individually, celebrating the images familiar from the TV series, and a four stamp miniature sheet reflecting on the heritage of the book illustrations.Thomas is naturally the 1st class value, with James as the 66p and Percy as the 68p. Daisy is the 76p while Toby is the £1.00 and Gordon the £1.10.The four stamps in the miniature sheet show Thomas, James, Percy and Henry in scenes from the book with captions.

    This was actually an attention-grabbing matter, I am very fortunate to be able to find this from google.


    How children just adore the engine, the tracks & the rail cars.
    Such stamps can help encourage the love for postage stamps
    in our generation next.
    As Thomas the Tank Engine is a cartoon-that’s even better to help
    create future philatelists.
    In the same vein, I think, India Post should issue stamps on CARS
    if they are serious about promoting philately in our children.
