\"\"By Raman Kumar Mandal

Dwarka is a famous historical place situated on the western coast of India. It is very important pilgrimage place and is one of the seven salvation centres in India.

Archaeological excavations show that present Dwarka town is the 6th city on this site. The earlier five have been submerged in the sea. The inner sanctum of the main Dwarkadish Temple known as the Nij Mandir-dates back to 2,500 years. The 5 storeyed temple is supported by 60 columns and is crowned by a soaring elaborately carved spire. The cancellation has been introduced at Dwarka Post Office on 16.07.1984
